What you pay for
One monthly price, from KSh 2,500 a month, paid by M-Pesa from inside the app. No terminal to buy and no percentage of your sales. Try it free for 14 days, with no card needed.
Use the devices you have
Any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser runs the till, and several can sell at once. A receipt printer is optional: any 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer works, and a receipt can go out as a PDF instead. Android phones scan barcodes with the camera, so a scanner is optional too.
What the price includes
Cash, M-Pesa and credit sales, retail and wholesale prices, stock counts, customer debts, supplier balances, daily reports and KRA eTIMS filing, in one app. It keeps selling when the internet drops and syncs when it’s back.
Choosing a POS for a Kenyan shop
Whatever you choose, check five things before you pay: that M-Pesa payments land on the sale rather than in a separate notebook, that it files sales with KRA eTIMS, that it keeps selling when the network drops, that it keeps customer credit with limits, and that you can take your sales out as a spreadsheet.
Duka does all five, and you can export your sales to a spreadsheet or a PDF at any time.
Questions.
- Is Duka a free POS?
- No. Duka is a monthly subscription, and you can try it free for 14 days with no card needed.
- What is the best POS for a small shop in Kenya?
- The one that fits how you sell. For most Kenyan shops that means M-Pesa on the sale, KRA eTIMS, credit for regular customers and a till that keeps selling offline, on devices you already own. That is what Duka is built for.
- Do I need to buy a receipt printer?
- No, it’s optional. Any 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer works, through the RawBT app on Android or the print dialog on a computer, and a receipt can also go out as a PDF.
