What works with no connection
On a device that has opened SuperDuka before, the till opens and sells with no connection, because your stock list is kept on the device. Cash and credit sales go through, and the receipt prints on a thermal printer or goes out as a PDF.
M-Pesa prompts need the network, so the till switches its M-Pesa button off until the connection is back. A customer can still pay your Till or Paybill from their own phone; the payment shows in the Payments list once you reconnect.
Every sale keeps its own number
A sale taken offline gets a receipt number made on the device, in a form the shop’s own numbering never uses, so two tills offline at the same time can’t print the same number. That number stays the sale’s number in your books.
When the connection comes back
The saved sales upload by themselves as soon as the device is back online, and the till keeps trying every half minute until they are all in. The header shows how many are still waiting.
A till can’t close its shift while sales are still waiting on it, so the drawer is counted against every sale.
Offline sales and KRA eTIMS
If you file with KRA eTIMS, each offline sale goes to KRA when it uploads. Until then its receipt says PROVISIONAL RECEIPT, NOT A VALID TAX INVOICE where KRA’s code would be, and a reprint after the sale syncs carries KRA’s number and QR. If sales still haven’t reached KRA after 18 hours, a bar across the till says so.

- Not for cash and credit sales. The device has to have opened SuperDuka with a connection once, so it has your stock list; after that it sells with or without one.
- Can two tills sell offline at the same time?
- Yes. Each device numbers its own offline receipts in a form that can’t clash with another’s, and both upload when they reconnect.
